INTRODUCTION

Outstanding engineering achievements, entrepreneurial courage, and a keen understanding of market needs constitute the pillars of Hettich’s success, principles that we have steadfastly upheld for over 125 years. In 1888, Karl Hettich engineered a machine that revolutionized the production of anchor escapements for Black Forest cuckoo clocks. In 1928, August Hettich ventured into the furniture industry, introducing an innovative production line for piano hinges. Buoyed by subsequent accomplishments, brothers Paul, August, and Franz Hettich established a new company in Herford in 1930. Kirchlengern became the headquarters in 1966. Since then, our company has remained a wholly owned family business, now led by Dr. Andreas Hettich as the fourth-generation managing director.
